
Stanly Johny is the International Affairs Editor with The Hindu. He has been writing on geopolitics and Indian foreign policy for over a decade, and has reported from different parts of the world. He is the author of three books: The ISIS Caliphate: From Syria to the Doorsteps of India (Bloomsbury, April 2018), The Comrades and the Mullahs: China, Afghanistan and the New Asian Geopolitics (HarperCollins, March 2022, co-authored); and Original Sin: Israel, Palestine and the Revenge of Old West Asia (HarperCollins, 2025). Stanly is a Visiting Professor at KREA University, Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, an adjunct faculty at Asian College of Journalism, Chennai and a Visiting Fellow at Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram.
