Paroma Roy Chowdhury is a communication, advocacy and public affairs professional. She is the senior vice-president and head of communications and public affairs at Byju’s, India’s largest edtech startup.
With more than two decades of experience across global organisations, she has held leadership positions in companies like GE, Hewlett Packard, Airtel and Google, where she set up the Comms function and team for India, and SoftBank, where she drove communications in Asia.
Paroma is also a visiting faculty member at the School of Management and Entrepreneurship at Shiv Nadar University. She was formerly a member of the startup team of the Indian School of Business. She also serves on the board of CXXO, India's only female founder fund. She is deeply interested in social responsibility, especially in corporate philanthropy, diversity and inclusion efforts, education for the under-privileged and use of technology for good. She has overseen diversity, community relations and corporate giving in almost all her jobs.
Paroma holds a first-class graduate and undergraduate degree from Presidency College (now university ) in Kolkata and has completed a Press Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, UK. She loves literature, contemporary Indian art , music and films, and is a keen observer of politics.
