Honey Trehan

Honey Trehan is a storyteller who has carved a distinctive path through Indian cinema. Beginning in theatre, he became Vishal Bhardwaj's creative collaborator on acclaimed films like Maqbool and Omkara. As casting director, Trehan revolutionised the field through projects including Delhi Belly, Udta Punjab, and Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds. Co-founding MacGuffin Pictures with Abhishek Chaubey, he’s produced A Death in the Gunj, Sonchiriya, Sharmaji Namkeen, Netflix’s Killer Soup, and National Award-winning Ullozhukku. His directorial debut Raat Akeli Hai earned the Filmfare Award for Best Web Original Film. His upcoming directorial, Punjab ‘95 featuring Diljit Dosanjh, chronicles 1990s Punjab’s struggle against injustice, showcasing Trehan’s commitment to transforming real-world narratives into compelling, authentic cinema.
