Colin Pereira serves as chief strategist on journalist safety at the Committee to Protect Journalists. For more than 15 years, he has worked to shape the risk management model for journalists operating under threat. He is a director at HP Risk Management, a consultancy assisting companies and media organisations operating in fragile environments. He was previously the head of security for ITN and deputy head of the BBC High Risk Team. Colin has advised teams of journalists covering wars, natural disasters, terrorism and riots globally, and has worked on high risk investigations. He was also a journalist with BBC Newsnight and BBC Current Affairs.
